"Gnosticism" is a political term used by the Church to describe ideas they claim are not Canonical even though they literally are, I mean literally-literally like in John 6:63, because the Church is a Satanic hive-like entity that on one hand got Socratically duped into making a Canon containing all the ideas its Doctrine has later rejected, and on the other hand gets off on twisting people's minds with contradiction for its own sake.

Buddhist scriptures mention a group of monks sent by Buddhist king Ashoka to Alexandria. Who are the Therapeutae? "Jewish" ascetics healers. Who were the early Buddhist monks sent by Ashoka? The elder monks of Ashoka's court room. Theraputa in sanskrit means "sons of the elders" and theravada means "teachings of the elders."
