Sure every /lit/zen has his own saint to praise him for inspiration, right? You are not a fucking heretic, right?

As a faithful Catholic I of course was given a patron saint at my Confirmation. Mine is particularly relevant to /lit/: St. Francis de Sales, patron of writers and journalists. He's a good saint to get to know.

Going to confession for the first time in a long time tomorrow lads. I've fapped to a lot of truly degenerate porn and hentai. How specific do I have to get with the priest? Do I have to tell him I fapped to gay shit (ie anime traps), or is just "masturbation" enough of a description?

In kind and number, so 'masturbation' would be good enough, and the approximate times if you're not sure the exact amount.

You pick when you go for the Sacrament of Confirmation. You're usually in a class over a series of months and you have to do research on your saint.

I mean no ill-will, but I don't really understand why saints are prayed on and worshipped. Shouldn't you be focusing on God if they had to focus on Him in the first place to get where they got? And why do they all have different purposes and powers? Pls help

>Doesn't he just know what is in my mind already?
Yes.

Matthew 6
>25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
>26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
>27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
>28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
>29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
>30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, [shall he] not much more [clothe] you, O ye of little faith?
>31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
>32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
>33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
>34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day [is] the evil thereof.

Because it's easier to see yourself in the perfected human beings who have come before you.

Protestants' greatest error was making Christianity HARD. They tried to intellectualize and incorporealize it. They did not realize that humans like easy access to the divine, in the form of the saints, of relics, of constant feast days and solemnities, of Rosaries and novenas, in the form, even, of the Eucharist, eaten every Sunday. Protestants cut the common people off from common, habitual relations with the Faith. This was their greatest crime.

1 Timothy 2:5 talks about MEDIATOR as the one who has the leading role in the reconciliation between a sinner humanity by the fault of Adam and Eve and God, not in your personal daily life. And it is not like the saints are the only way to talk with God. Jesucrist is God.

Well, I'm still in confirmation class and I asked people about patron saints and they said they didn't have one of those (or they don't remember, must be). Anyway I'm 5 months in and all they explained is why God isn't sexist and what marriage is. I'll have to investigate myself it seems. What a time to be alive. We need the Inquisition back.
I'm in Spain btw
