How do you move on after finishing a masterpiece?

Just finished IJ and everything I've read since feels banal

Have you read the books that influence it? Hamlet? Odyssey? The Brothers Karamazov? You could also read some other works by DFW. His essays are pretty spectacular.

suffering from this same problem. I'm just looking for other masterpieces to let me down gently from that gigamasterpiece i just finished.
Frankly, true geniuses are just few and far between, and thankfully, one can return to already read masterpieces and glean more and more from them each time, provided we have gained some perspective during the interim.
