I know it's retarded of me to ask a fucking Mongolian tree cutting forum on how to carry this out but what would be the preferred way to escape organized society. a la Kaczynski.

A Buddhist/Christian monastery
Moving to the woods (this would require a sizable amount of capital which I do not have)

any other ideas?

An off-grid reading list would look so etching like this

>Uncle Red
>Book on Survivalism for your preferred environment
>Book on Buddhism

monastery or low-tech community (amish)

the foxfire books are an old favorite for me

Sometime I dream of escaping the world by going to Mount Athos.

Buddhist monastery i would say otherwise go get a job for a year or two, save all you can and move to the woods, buy some land and turn into a full time farmer.

how much would the land usually cost? would 1-2 years of an entry level job really suffice?
on farming, I recently read the one straw revolution, the idea of organic farming seems really appealing but it takes experimentation, which in turn requires time and resources.
Both which I may not have, instead opting for the safer option of green pea farming or something.

You'd be surprised. If you live a mininalistic lifestyle for a year or two you could afford land. Keeping up with costs would be a different story

There are communes that already exist.
The problem is that they're gay and boring.

The idea of a psuedo hippie commune scares me. I doubt I could find one I would actually like, or in reality, one that would actually like me.

at the very least, I would be able to sell some produce made from the land, even overcharge it under the label "organic"

there's also christian ones but they're most likely brainwashed asf.

Well yes, 2 years of an entry job would suffice if you don't pay rent. Then you have to consider the costs that come with your farm's maintenance. Here in Europe there are programms where you can sign up and the Union will you a sum of money to start your new business without asking you to pay them back. So if you have such a thing in US i would suggest you go take a look on that.
Also keep in mind that building houses is a lot cheaper now than the past, people build small cozy houses out of everything. It is doable anon, but it certainly is a really tough task.

I currently live a more modernized asian city, I'll have to move in order to actually start anything. (thought this may incur a fuckton of unexpected taxes) A farm seems to be the preferred choice for me
Working for 2 - 3 years doesn't seem that bad however the idea of working, day in day out, for the next 40 years haunts me. The drive is definitely there, i can't imagine living like that for longer than a small stretch.
The thought of having a small self autonomous property seems to be my ultimate ideal at the moment. Or at least some sort of autonomy away from industrial society.

Also listen to this idea, i inherited some land from my grandfather, thing is i have no clue how to work on it so what i did was to rent the land to a guy who pretty much wanted to do the same thing with you. And renting land i am telling you it is cheap as fuck, definetely doable aswell for the beginning. 2 acres of land is like 1000euros for a year.

>> No.13887751

>>13887739
holy fuck that is seriously cheap, still a dependency in the form of a landlord is a bit iffy but the only reasonable financial choice for me honestly. thanks for the advice dude

>> No.13888492 [DELETED]

why you want to escape? I can't say anything. If you're tired of society go to forest, I don't recommended a monastery since its not aimed at that egoistical thought.

Very much depends on what country you're talking about.
