Depressing or hopeful takes on the death of childhood. Basically an anti-coming of age story if you will?

I think The Ocean at the End of the Lane is about childhood.

On the death of a child or on the ‘death’ of childhood (loss of innocence)?

If it’s the latter, The Waves is a fascinating take on childhood/adolescence. If it’s the former, a few come to mind that capture the grief one feels after the death of a child, though a child’s death specifically is more difficult to find. For feels, Sons and Lovers, As I Lay Dying, and, obviously, Catcher in the Rye come to mind.

>As I Lay Dying
Scratch that, not sure why I mentioned it. For some reason I remember someone else dying but I suppose I’m wrong. Huh
