People who know music like me, and i dont mean from /mu/.. i mean geranally know music.. understand that GYBE isn't beautiful or ground breaking like others say they are, but basically they're just a 0.5 speed Progressive Rock band without the drums. I used to like part of the F Sharp album, but just East Hastings, the rest is incredibly over rated.

Whilst Godspeed! haven't made so much music, the quality is MUCH better

many of Mogwai's songs are so poor they are rendered essentially unlistenable. The album about Zinedine Zidane get's increasingly poor upon every listen - and has no redeemable qualities.

Raise Your Skinny Fists on the other hand (by Godspeed!) is pure genius, and a true masterpiece of our time. If you haven't heard it I suggest stopping what you're doing and shutting the fuck up while it's luscious sounds and social criticisms in the form of instrumental bliss surround and become you.

Respectable band, but that's all they are and will ever be.. nobody has R.E.M as their favourite band, it just doesn't happen, they have shit tons of fans.. i for one love Murmur, and i listen to 'The Best Of' regularly, Whats The Frequency Kenneth? is one of my favourites by them.

So.. They deserve more recognition by more people for the influence they've created on other bands.
