How do religious people reconcile with the fact that they will die? They believe in a sky daddy.

Pascal's wager is the least convincing argument ever written it boils down to "If you give x a chance you'll be convinced eventually".

Read The Ego and it's own. It's like Ecclesiastes except the conclusion it comes to is different.

Its quite simple really, Pascal's wager assumes that Christianity is the best choice simply because Pascal thought it was the best religion, because he had those preferences and related values inculcated in him from his upbringing. Once you seriously start to read the metaphysics and philosophy of other religions though the notion that Christianity is ideal becomes utterly laughable

They thought really hard and then realized they don't think there's any chance hell exists. They also probably realized that the wager doesn't pertain specifically to a Christian god so in reality it's impossible to say that you're worshipping the right or wrong god.

Hmm interesting.
For me it was the opposite.

I can prove without a doubt that my god exists and he is the only true god. I do this by gathering people who also believe my god exists and is the only true god and then we kill everyone who doesn't believe. If our god is the true god we will succeed. Therefore Islam is true. QED.

>Pascals Wager
Normie filter is people only talking about the wager.

Pascal's Pensees contains so much more than the infamous wager, and would have been a more accurate discussion to bring to a /lit/ thread.
