are there any good books involving the concept of completely letting go of all pain and apprehensions regarding societal etiquette, and simply allowing them to be? I have dabbled with many authors who touch on the subject, but I was hoping for something that doesn't involve buddhist mentality or eastern philosophy. Something original in conception or at least worded without direct involvement with "nirvana" or any of these concepts of letting go.

I personally have a difficult time chilling out, at least on a mental level. I could be sitting down and outwardly relaxing but my mind doesn't seem to have an off switch or just immersing my mind in the moment of existence. I think it's autism or something honestly, I don't know.

I have tried tuning in to some of the hemp heads like Alan Watts, maybe trying to channel something through this mentally, but it isn't really striking a chord with me. Pls bump

Discourse on Method I guess.

But honestly you'd be better off eating 6 grams of mushrooms and killing your ego.

maybe the problem is people nowadays are being borderline constantly ironic and not serious about anything. I am finding it increasingly more difficult to find legitimate connections with people without the involvement of constant detached joke and irony involved in conversation.
