what the hell is music theory? is it like queer theory?
why would you try to rationalize the irrational?

>> No.13821621

Rick Snoman's Dance Music Manual is a meme book for learning music theory via DAW but I've tried it and it seems like such an ass backwards approach. I instantly started improving much faster once I started learning via playing an instrument instead, i.e. learning piano with Albert Adult Piano. So idk, the former option can be pirated so maybe is easier to look into, a physical piano not so much.

Fucking idiot, this is always the retort of the brainlet when faced with ideas about categorization, and it's a highly feminine reaction. Music theory is quite similar to grammar in that it does NOT seek to "rationalize the irrational" but instead simply labels what exists; it's a naming process that is highly useful for application and categorization.
Responses like yours are akin to someone calling a zebra a 'zebra,' and you respond with "why are you trying to rationalize the irrational?!"
