Bitching, ranting, wheedling, and whining isn't really "work," per se.

Sage for Ayn Rand.

At least she made sense, unlike most continental philosophers. Rand, in making sense, allowed us to criticize her and then move on. Other people waste years and years writing a dissertation on continental drivel! I think Rand deserves at least a little love for that.

Her metaphysics are laughably reasoned. They're basically a set of asserted axioms.

I thought We the Living was quite good.
Anthem is a superfluous, pretentiousness attempt at poetically saying, "The universe revolves around ME!"

Thereafter, her works get too thoroughly infused with a philosophy with which I don't agree. Though I can more than stand this with some writers, I find that Rand doesn't gracefully integrate objectivism into an eloquent story. The Fountainhead exemplifies this, and Atlas Shrugged epitomizes it.

flat writing, characters that make me long for 2 dimensions, and narcissism disguised as philosophy. Other than that, she sucks.

I don't like her protagonists--they are idiots.
