I would recommend reading the short story Miss Sophie's Diary, and for longer books I would recommend Fields of Life and Death as well as practically anything by Ba Jin. All of this is Chinese lit btw

How do you not at least know by name some of the classics of Chinese literature?

The true hard mode is Korean and various southeast Asian cultures literature.

For Korea, I can personally recommend The Story of Hong Gildong, which is essentially a Robin Hood type story, except with the disgraced son of a concubine who tries to restore filial piety and also superpowers.

Not too sure though if it's actually her.

This is some lightly weird shit. Some sort of normie version of isekai anime I think. It's the professionalism of the normal videos which makes it creepy.

I'm almost certain it's propaganda financed by the party to trick men into supporting China.

I like the idea though.
> I will do it for you because I am not solipsistic.

Thanks darling.
> I rike the idea of a strap-on for my birthday.

Wonderful! This Western solipsism was really getting me down.

Classical Chinese literature of course, but modern China does not produce much that is worthwhile. It's kind of amazing how culturally rotten the country is. Taiwan is a bit of an exception though, and it's the only place in China where philosophy happens too (mostly Confucianism though).

>modern China does not produce much that is worthwhile
Define "modern." The civil war era produced Fortress Besieged, Cat Country, Rickshaw Boy, and The True Story of Ah Q.

More recently, there's Ma Jian who is an exiled dissident writer, but he still writes in Chinese and has it translated even though he lives in Britain now. Gao Xingjian is another exiled writer living in France now but he's no longer active.

For mainland writers there's Mo Yan and Yan Lianke.
