OKAY if you don't have much time to read
OKAY if you are listening to a work originally of the oral tradition
NOT OKAY as a replacement for reading actual books (unless you fall under the first condition)
NOT OKAY if you are listening to a librivox recording

What if I listen to an audiobook faster than I can read the same material because I hate some sort of learning disability?

Depends on the book, some stuff is really easy listen to and absorb while more scientific/philosophic books I find I need to read.

I love going on long walks while listening to audiobooks.

It's only ok if it's the lowest of the low genre fiction

I'm too lazy for actual reading so I just get in bed, close my eyes, and listen to audiobooks all day.

>> No.13803975

I don't see how that's any lazier than watching movie adaptations, as long as you pay attention to the narration its just a tad different from reading yourself.

I listened to the complete man in yellow and can say it was a great experience.

NOT
READING
Audiobooks should be placed on the Schedule I list of controlled substances. They can only be administered by a trained professional to people who need them (I.e the blind)
People caught with audiobooks without a prescription belong in prison.

As long as you are fully understanding the content then there's no difference. The only difference I could imagine is that you could highlight a physical book which doesn't make much of a difference. Anyone who says "audiobook bad" is just a pseud soiboy NPC.
