I want to become a more cultured, knowledgeable, and insightful person. So I ask you /lit/izens to each give me your 5 favorite books that I can resd through. I have a job where I get paid to do nothing so I thought this would be the best time to read more books and learn shit.

Look through the western canon and pick whatever interests you. I usually recommend Kafka or Hesse because they're easy to understand without much knowledge. Set up a habit by using the 'minimum viable effort.' Read a minimum of 1 page(or even 1 paragraph) daily just to set up the habit. If you try to force yourself to read 40 pages daily you're only going to give up the habit.
