That's what you get for not starting with epistemology

Philosophy is not about logical deduction but it is a creative endeavor ie. the creation of concepts.

It is our “cope”.
We are ants in a cathedral, in the incomprehensible void that is the universe we have been the only being so far capable of conscious to our understanding. If we are alone then we must have some reason to breath rather than to be a simple flicker of excitement in the cold universe. And if we are not alone we might be part of something greater.

what is epistemology other then attaching abstract concepts to being? and are abstract concepts not being? im trying to overcome dualism. What can i say about metaphysics at all if all that i perceive is all that exists? Why does sarte say a theory of knowledge implies a theory of metaphysics?

Neuroticism is merely a product of the insatiable will. No amount of thinking will make one perfect, it will actually have the opposite effect.

Sarte was outrageously assmad at anything Platonic, be careful with him.

What the hell, I was just going to post a thread like this. This has happened three times in the past, and I'm scared that I'm a part of some /lit/ hive-mind now.

Would you expect be able to prove the Riemann Hypothesis in five hours?
Would you expect to unite Quantum Theory and the Theory of Relativity in five hours?
Solve the P-NP-Problem?

Why the fuck does a little wanker like you think he can solve problems generations of people were working on in a mere five hours?

Philosophy expands your toolbox for thinking about the world. Personally I'm mostly interested in political philosophy, and reading various thinkers helped me gain a better understanding of the world we live in - Hobbes, Locke, Mill - or gain a different set of lenses for thinking about the world - Marx, Nietzsche.

You've gained something, even if it doesn't feel like it. Someday one of those ideas you wrote down will come up again and you'll be 10 steps ahead.

Being intelligent and educated just gives you tools to further your own interests. A person you are smarter than is a person you can manipulate.

They don't do anything.

Try considering existence as an idea.
What does this idea apply to, does the idea apply to itself, etc.
