Struggling with what? Be motivated, eat well, sleep well, drink water, coffee maybe, don't touch your computer/cellphone in a reading session, read loud, its has flow, if it doesn't keep trying, dunno.

>read loud
>coffee maybe
these are the only things i disagree with.
Reading should be done sub vocally. You shouldn't even hear the words in your head.

Takes longer to read, and the information doesn't get absorbed as much. Unless it's poetry or very reliant on the sound as >>13761062 pointed out, then you're wasting time on seeing and hearing the words instead of sensing and feeling the meaning of the word.
For instance, people familiar with arithmetic might see 2 x 4 and instinctively see and feel 8.
That takes some small practice with the times tables. It's the same with reading words. Try to look at a word and instinctively feel the meaning behind it. It's alright if you say it in your head, but try to, as quickly as you can, translate the words into the sensations they represent. The goal is to feel them as much as you hear them inside your head. Or even better, just not hearing them at all.
