a legitimate question. Saying it in an incredulous sardonic tone doesn't prove anything. A lot of Christian philosophers and theologians wrestled earnestly with the Problem of Evil, and tried to provide (in my view inadequate) answers to it.

Too simplistic a statement. There are good and bad aspects of Europe, and it varies from country to country. It's certainly better than America.
