Why did Guenon pick Advaita Vedanta as the school that best expressed the perennial truth? Why didn't he for example say that the perennial tradition and religious esoterism really lead to Christianity, Taoism or Buddhism for instance?

>> No.13740148

It was the strictest system with the least amount of deviations from the principles of Tradition.

>> No.13740157

Because he's a retard, you're a retard, and neither of you understand Buddhism or Taoism.

Learning about Asian religions from 19th century Europeans is the most idiotic thing you can do.

This.
Caste systems are the perfect tool to ensure a stable live for culture and tradition, even if the lowest suffer.

Too bad they didn't do that. Most Buddhists are wrong about Buddhism too.

Guenon and Evola are literally that, and they relied on bad translations to make baseless, wrong interpretations. Asian Buddhists understand their religion better than these esotericists.

That's idiotic. It literally just keeps power in the hands of the most privileged. That's about domination, not culture.

Guenon was the exact opposite of an orientalist. He was a language genius able to speak dozens of ancient languages including Sanskrit. All of his knowledge of ancient religions is first hand.

The existence of Taoist Triads of an initiatic character with Chinese roots all throughout Vietnam was well documented and studied by the French colonial authorities, who often made comparisons to masonry back in Europe

Why should I trust the French about anything? Germans and Anglos were the only ones to value intellectual integrity when studying the traditions of other cultures. French were always quixotic and full of themselves.

Also, knowing the Vietnamese, they probably just make up lineages on the fly, and knowing the French, they'll just believe whatever sounds most pleasing.

Coomaraswamy spoke/read dozens, Guenon could do so for around 10

>René (Jean-Marie-Joseph) Guénon was born in 1886 in Blois, France. He obtained degrees in Mathematics and Philosophy, taught for some years in Paris and, during the war, in Algeria. Early in his life, he dominated the Greek, Latin, English, Italian, German, Spanish, Sanskrit, Hebraic, Arabic and later, Chinese languages. Surprising European and Orientals, he maintained conversation with his interlocutors in their own language, mastering both the language and the spirit of distant civilizations.
