There's nothing incomprehensible about film, I mean for someone who's going to be watching and interested in that sort of thing. There's nothing that we can't comprehend. And I like movies just as much as I like books - well, maybe I prefer books a little, but I certainly would never claim that either is superior as an art form. But I'm not gonna knock Tarkovsky, the man is a genius. Andrei Rublev, The Mirror, fucking brilliant shit.

Definitely check out Tarr after Tarkosvky. He takes Tarkovsky's use of the long shot and time and pushes it to a much more bleak, secular extreme.10 minute track shot of some cows in a field, genius.
