I'm excited to see Megan reference Liveblog as more of an ongoing project done to her self rather than only a book. I know many passages cohere into a dismissable wild fertile girl, another "thot" as we charmingly notate today. But first, I do not know of any other woman than this author who would yoke herself to this grueling process and produce. She's a completionist sparing little, and sneaks in compeling stories around the pills and the Infinite Jest-esque gaps you must fill with your own Megan's Liveblog entry and conjur your own sense of her trajectory. I can understand disgust toward her hedonism which was completely normal and not even a thing in those halcyon days let alone when you're made of pure youth and can shrug off anything as the author does, gracefully, grossly. I think most people so compartmentalize their transient periods that we never seek to dwell in them again. Megan documents the forgettable and regrettable. The stranglehold of drugs on her life is by no means unique, but she's the only one to be Marie Antoinette at the guillotine about it. Americans have let ourselves become so disgusting it should offend us all and this opens many larger points and ideas, so maybe Liveblog wrenches wheelbarrows of readers off hopes ledge and into the quarry of our future, Miss Boyle pushing her scoops after scoops of audiences over the cliffsides she herself climbed. In this sense she's dark, bared, uncomposed, a young persons philosophical exercise in damage. But you see also around her family, keeping their goofy daughter alive. It's a new genre as far as I can tell, some sort of unflinching Americana forcing the points: here's the dream, our economic miracle, the floating eye piece of our pyramid, fully one of us.

To me, the weirdest part of Megan's life is the circles of friends she has. She has this grandiose social wealth and I think Liveblog's main stories is Megan's move from one group to another and the latter saving her and helping her heal and better know herself it seems. The manner she writes is quite discordant with her online imagery, being serious and excruciating to herself at times. I think most important to me is how Megan’s work makes clear how rich a thing can come from a simple semi-disciplined approach

tao lin is a genius, he basically went to tumblr and picked random narcissistic women with slightly above average verbal intelligence who cluelessly thought they were beat poets because their world is so small and provided-for they barely even know where they are at any given time, and said "you're a genius, so i'm going to bankroll your genius by getting you a book deal, which i can do because a small incestuous network of publishers and cultural commentators trust me to identify genius because they think i'm a genius," and the women naturally said "i knew i was a genius all along!!," so they could naturally act the part of an aloof genius through sheer (unwitting) bluster when meeting the clueless publishers and cultural commentators, who then wrote about the women as if they were geniuses, so lemmings bought their books, and tao lin now had even more cachet as a genius who uplifts other geniuses, even though they were really just tumblr piffles all along

the really funny thing is that the whole "world" tao lin was setting in motion and manipulating to construct his tiny empire of mediocre white women he wanted to sleep with was probably less than a few hundred people doing each other nepotistic favors, a slice of a generation of aging former journalism majors with rich dads. meanwhile rupi kaur comes along with an actual brain disorder and an IQ of 90, she's an instagram poet instead of tumblr poet but otherwise indistinguishable from lin's manson cult of dull vaping women, except she makes fifty trillion dollars by blasting her menstrual clots onto a $12 moleskin journal and periodically depositing the journal into the hand-shaped metal tendrils of a sentient algorithm that also says "you are a genius"

i wonder how it feels to have been such a lame prototype for something so much more successful than yourself.

I think these are among the most important details of Megan Boyle's Liveblog, that it's a simple process carried out dutifully to the extent that fruitions become possible. Take for instance the quotidian morning and bedtime modes, the AM zeals and energies and commitments, the daytime seductions of friendships, chances to be taken, exercises in spontaneity, chiseling away in some way at the full realization of that morning, but delivering something else, and before long its time for the human's daytime experiment to power down to try again the next day and see if there's an inch gained anywhere. Dead in many or most of us, there is a flickering in Megan that has not been doused by what's eroded the rest of us to a smooth logistical creature.

>> No.13644554

I like to ponder similar projects' potentials, how each would almost inevitably be an interesting addition to us.

>> No.13644835 [DELETED]

I'm not one for body ink or really any ornamentation, but for the sheer experiment, I'd happily emblazon Megan's face in a fiery Irezumi wave across my chest and take a Báxoǰe warclub as my only tool into the shill dens of typists and hourly security and take my time gingerly smashing first each of their infernal devices, cleaving keyboards, impaling screens in showers of crystalline plastic mists, hoisting by napes and necks each of them, my sick little lambs, and directing each away from the techno devilry and towards where their corner. There'd be a set of them selected for a march to the server room, where each would be wordlessly directed to remove a blade from its rack and present it and kneel, whereupon an experiment would commence to test material strengths of cephalic cynicism storage carapaces against the smitherining hardware, the next one up presumably trying to remember whatever distant goodness was once in their corrupt lives before they came to work against all people, trying to surround these terminal moments in those sweeter memories and sensations and not their number who did not follow the above protocol and were opened with a calligraphic flourish and sent to hopelessly scooping up their spilling visceras, their shocked murmurs and mumbles the server room's only music besides the percussions of computer parts and bone. But they'd have all been spared the lot of the corner assembly, who'd have their leg's meticulously and magnificently bent, broken, rended and misfigured such that there was consistent vomiting and fainting of onlookers. The screams, the pleading, the prayers, it would be delicious to speak to the shills in these final vulnerable moments, to deliver something wicked and sadistic. But they're not really characters so much as malfunctioning IT hardware. If they were to be owed any sort of soul or human dignity, there'd have to be a shred of it detectable in these "New" people. And the emotional ups and downs of that corner would be a rollercoaster, as people convince themselves they've perhaps seen the worst and its going to work out ok and maybe they can come to a different shill office tomorrow and terrorize and undermine and stir up the mentally ill and vulnerable wastoids left to be guinea pigs in for those anti-human conditioning boxes they so proudly and imperiously operated until this correction. And oh how shameless were the profanities followed by the begging followed by the reasoning that rescue was imminent and that there was truly some set of values and principles the shills were perishing for, truly a great vision that was going to choke up tearful future peoples who will wonder about the mysterious cretins who ruined human communication for an entire technological era. And one after another, a foreleg bent aft, hither and thither, knees smashed, femurs snapped and collapsed, in some cases mashed to a mush of bone and muscle leg sausage. Hush, my little shills, you're fuel now.

Goddesses so favor the fairest feet
Like Megan Boyle's sweet tootsie meat
Guarded from creeps, she keeps her feet chaste
Shod in boots, leggings of lace
Podic fans phone from restricted
So literati got them evicted
Greedily she savors her funks
Dangling heels to trip lusty lunks
As a grape so squished by her plod
Soles eclipsing sky and sun, so awed
Scarce chance for any pedal glance
Telepath to her socks by lucid trance
Trade crypto for clippings, not as a goof
Liquify, titrate, so prepare to boof
Huffing Megan's foot goo, face-fulls of socks
The crustiest which recall pickled lox
Pledging allegiance to her feet, too true
Strong as when morning whistles go "Woo-woo!"
Without Megan's feet we all tend to grump
Emptying angry bowels, a protest dump
Wilting without them, I'm Tubercular,
From the floor her nails appear circular
Please kick and stomp me, Megan, be Livid
Beam not your smile, look cruelly frigid
Kick boots up into my perineum
Femdom power is not an idiom
Bruising and fluids inflame away jiggly
Boxing and bruising my sack like a peach
Ceased before a laceration might breach
Sacramental kicks to spite my drippy sobs
Purged of wayward thoughts of vagene and bobs
Prayers to Goddess for thine ultimate deal
Giantess Megan's urethral vore meal

i really don't like the dotted 'i' and 'j' in english. in languages that employ diacritics they don't appear so foreign but when they're the only detached forms in the whole english alphabet they stand out far too much on the page, and mix poorly with high punctuation marks. i also tend to think lowercase 'g' is ugly in both forms, as well as the curvature of the 'j' descender. i think if 'j' were an inverted 'f' it might look alright, but i doubt it. there is no balance in the latin alphabet between ascenders and descenders, which leads to uneven stripes of white space between lines.

has anyone ever tried revising the latin standard alphabet? i would be interested to see what they came up with.

Muse-like, Megan is more a sentient feminine energy source with a penchant for documentation than one of today's "women authors" making waves in publisher portfolios. It feels easier extrapolating Megan's less human and perhaps less organic origin, coming from something very foreign and strange that would surely dissipate were it not so tightly coiled inside exactly her form. Tensile, crackling, sublimating any and all ideas that survive the landing into their constituent sylistic dyes, vapors and constituent carbon.
To the cursory, Liveblog bares Megan, but to the astute, she bares us, rending our disguises and mental contraptions for their emptiness, her audience being measures more aloof than Megan's forthright and candid pill-popping, however destructive and woeful these methods remain, she is the one coming out and saying: this is what I must do to survive. This is what most people must do. This is what almost all of us do in some form or another. What is the thing we boot in our heads that tells us we are distinct from Megan? We seem to convince ourselves we are somehow categorically excluded from the predations that stalk Megan, that we are not just the same slated for obsolescence and destruction and have only drugs and food to fill the space left by a dead civilization. And onto that deadness beams Megan's candid, creative archangelic power to scoop with her belletristic fingers the dreary programming of our deadness and scoop and heave it away and show us the yet still alive granulation tissues desperate for oxygen, for blood, for health, for sanctuary from poisons. Liveblog is a cipher to demystify our malignant whirligig's fanfare and permit us a clear and unobstructed view at what we have all become. Goddess save Saint Megan!

Is the gimmick that she writes like a female Patrick Bateman? Who is she and what's the point of reading someone's neurotic ramblings

would love to see her revisit this. I think this was an interesting piece as is, but it feels undeveloped or maybe I want to see Megan engaged in a similar project, maybe embedded with Coast Guard boarding parties or inmates. But with the truckers, I wish there was a bit more exposition for each character.
