Any political system must account for the desire of people because desire is at the core of existence, as explained by Plato in the Republic. Each of the three part of the soul has a specific desire, the highest being the desire for knowledge. A good political system will have at its core the concern for the desire of knowledge.

you... you just now started reading philosophy didn't you ? like... The republic is your first book, and you come here, all elitist thinking "heh, there were no developments made in political science in the past 3000 years since plato, so his thoughts still stands"... fucking Aristotle's politics btfo plato's republic you fucking mongrel. And don't even get me started in this highschool level of interpretation on his tripartite of the soul. That is sad. FUCK! Summer lit is the worst.
I came looking for a dialogue and will leave afraid for the future of humanity.

If you imply that Plato doesn't advocate the superiority of that specific desire over the others you're pretty retarded my man. Now, please tell me how Plato has anything to do with that faggot Green.

>> No.13638666

democracy empowers term-time politicians who use their power in office to shore up the projects and policies that most benefits them and their associates, while trying to leave as few scraps as possible for whoever might come next. I haven't read it in a while but I remember Land describes democracy in The Dark Enlightenment as a kind of becoming-zombie. There is no such thing as a man of the people, there is only the man of his pride who wants to eat all the brains before anyone else can.

Plato and his "objectivity" and world of forms bullshit was the doutrine that helped christianity the most. Which then then christian evolved into what you see now of the "humanist" mentality that is basically the same thing.
In other words:
Plato -> Christianity -> "Humanism" -> Green's superfecial idea

>> No.13638817

>>13638800
Slippery slope, Plato is far from a humanist and is certainly not responsible for the faggotry of Green and the like.
