Being Scottish is quite fascist when you consider their obstinacy in maintaining their identity despite a lack of independence. Hume is an important figure in philosophy. He precedes his antithesis, Kant, and proposed many important ideas, like the Is/Ought distinction. Even in the sense that you disagree with him, Kant hows that Hume was still valuable for the opposite of his ideas, by formulating them.
