Man returns home from serving Israel overseas and finds his wife pregnant with another man's child.
He loses everything in the divorce, including his house and his beloved pet pige, and it set on a spiral of depression, alcoholism, and rage.
The rage grows and starts being directed against women in general instead of just his ex wife.
It is left ambiguous in the ending if he gets his life back on track and moves on or does something really violent.

“Cosmic cockroach”
Since the age of 26, a young man who’d just gotten out of the army as an NBC soldier, the main character has been sucked into an alternate dimension for six months/year at a time only to be returned with no time having passed for him. He’s been committed several times and he should be in his late 60’s but his body stays young. With no way to maintain a normal life he moves to the nastier slum of Chicago to use his talents as a master of caustic gasses to forcibly take down trap houses and take the money to arm himself during the trips to the dangerous other side that might just be a figment of his post war ptsd mind. Using homemade body armor and scuba tanks he destroys drug houses for his own personal gain. I’m about halfway through
