Finance is a pretty broad field, it's not all trading. You also have private equity and investment banking.

Nothing will be completely automated. But law, finance, accounting, will get automated enough to make it a lot harder to find work in these fields because all the entry-level busy work will be performed by computers.

$43k is one hell of a low bar, anon. That's what I make right now and I'm continuously appalled and researching job changes, further schooling, etc. at all hours. Almost any amount of education (intelligently selected) will push you over that pay.
