Why is it not possible that the God who apprehends our reality is just some lower order maniac?

I don't understand how that would be possible. What exactly do you mean? What kind of theology are you proposing? Why do you call this force or presence a god?

It ruins the function of the cult. It was always about making people subservient

he says while sitting in a pile of rotting flesh, his best possible fate to die of combined illness and exhaustion on painkillers in a few decades

oop, looks like you need to consume more matter to process into chemical energy, chop chop body boy! your stomach doesn't like to be kept waiting! better organize your life around toiling to be able to consume other organic matter so you don't succumb to a painful death, towards which you're always heading just by existing!

Society is already oriented towards subservience. Religion, as a part of society and not as a set of tasteful theological words, promotes subservience towards itself and what ever power is allayed by it's your subservience. That can be an internal struggle with your own power(s), it can be a struggle with an outside power, it can be almost anything as long as it implies your (conscious or not) role in the performance of some subservient give and take. It can be Good, or Evil, or savage and grotesque without any real direction, it all depends; except subservience, there's always subservience.

One at a time. For some it’s more about the legal documents and the flag, but essentially. Read Stirner.
