French. Not hard to learn and France has the strongest literary tradition.

1) What is your mother tongue?
2) What languages are you interested in learning?

come be an enlightened weeb. At least learn something dissimilar enough from your own native language that the ideas are expressed in a way that isn't just your native language with the verb and subject swapped. Makes reading more interesting in my opinion

French or German is probably your best bet.

>> No.13600890

If you learn French, German, Russian and Spanish you will have access to 99% of the Western Canon. French, German and Spanish are considered some of the easiest languages for an English native to learn, so you should pick the one you like best and start with that.

German, obviously

1) English
2) I was thinking about learning Spanish purely to read Roberto Bolaño. Russian was my goal for a while as I say but I’m contemplating which to choose out of German or French. Norwegian also interested me for a while but I thought it pointless learning in the end

I think this seems the best option. I’m certainly verging towards Spanish overall

>Tfw you speak Polish, English, German, and are learning Russian (easy) and Italian (easy)
Will French be my next step or should I move over to more exotic places?

I'm thinking the same thing. It's probably the best option for an amermutt like myself. Then, probably move on to the others. Idk, I've been lazy, lately.

Same here man. Wage cucking gets in the way of these kinds of things sometimes. But we’ll get through it, and become more cultured in the process

German or French since your mother tongue is English. Either one shouldn't be too hard. Which one is best for you depends on your literary and professional pursuits. I personally would prefer German, but it's entirely up to you.

French has quite the rich literary catalogue, I'd say go for it unless you have a special reason or preference to pick another.

Greek is my weakness. I know the alphabet and I can say "hi" and "thank you" but that's pretty much it. God I love being European

There ya go. I'm trying to look forward as well; chip away as assuredly and consistently as I can, looking towards greater pastures, and fillin up me ol' noggin with that Good Think. Maybe, settle down with some senorita in S.America doing some obscurantist crypto gig. I don't know, just dreaming at this point.
