Why does he not get as much talk as the likes as Leo Strauss when he serves as an antidote to his evil and that of his ilk?

He's too conservative for modern liberals, and too facile for scholars and philosophers (like Strauss). His argument for reading Plato and Aristotle is that they're wrong, and so one will learn something about wrong views in order to defend liberal democracy. But his grasp of the actual thought of such figures is so hodgepodge, that one is inclined to question the wisdom of his whole "great ideas of the West" schtick, which depends on every reader of Western literature coming to the same conclusions as him, and which tends to breed a certain middle class middlebrow snobbery toward the "great ideas" so as to reject them the way modern liberals do.

Also, his book on reading is so obvious but also so longwinded for no good reason. Strauss is much more rewarding by comparison, whereas with Adler, what you see is what you get, and that amounts to a shitty book about Aristotelianism.
