I actually read Lolita in Russian before I read it in English. I was learning the language at the time and it was gifted to me by a girlfriend, and I absolutely adored it. Nabokov wrote the translation himself so it's about as accurate as can be.

When I read the English version I realized I had not encountered the real beauty of the book, because it lies in its prose above all, but it is still an incredible story in Russian. I cannot say whether random people translating it into other languages would have the same fidelity of meaning though.

I think that the reason the book is so loved when Nabokov's prose is often as good in other works is because what it talks about. The absolute infatuation HH has for Lolita, the undeniable harm involved in predating on a child, the child's own fledgling desire for the forbidden fruit she doesn't understand, the breaking apart of taboo that engaging in the subject entails, the understanding that he is lying about what actually happened because he can't face reality in many ways, the deep tragedy of the narrative, it is very potent, and the perfection of his language elevates it.

I don't know about other translations but Nabokov's own version in Russian fully gets it. It wasn't a different book, just a book somewhat lessened in beauty.

I recently checked a version of Lolita in French just for fun. The introduction said that Nabokov (being fluent in French) was very unsatisfied with the original translation of the book and he made a bunch of notes and corrections and that this translation actually used those to fix it, so I guess it was a pretty good translation since it was almost made by him.

The Swedish translation was so bad that Nobakov sued the publisher and they were forced to pull the book from the market and destroy all copies. Nobakov cared.

any work that uses puns and playful language in translation is the basis for the now decade old /lit/ meme of mocking reading in translation

i love that all men dream to have the same power over roasties as the power of roasties over men. YOU JUST KNOW that men want to have the easy life of sluts and make roasties compete for them, then just pick the slut of the week, like women do. YOU JUST KNOW that men want to be loved just for existing

The vocabulary is pretty Latinate, so it translates well into Romance languages.

DeepL is fairly capable at translating books. I'd say for untranslated works you could easily pop them in and be 90% of the way there.
