>From the failed 1848 revolutions untill the 1860's Marx thought an industrial crisis would cause a revolution in France
The revolution and the crisis never occurred and Marx was subjected to ridicule by his peers.
>Marx thought the recession in 1857 would lead to a revolution
It never did.
>Engels thought a crisis would lead a revolution in England by 1886
A revolution never happened and the economy in Britian recovered by 1888.
>Marx thought Capitalism had the long run tendency to keep real wages at a subsistence level
In reality, real wages have gone up in the long run.
>Marx thought workers' plight would lead to Communism
In reality, modern day plight of workers has not led to a renewed interest in Communism.
>Marx thought Capitalism had the long-run tendency to decrease the rate of profit
In reality, the rate of profit has not decreased.

Correct. Yes, Marx’s philosophy works for the same reason Nietzsche’s does: it hardly actually means anything at all

>Marx thought an industrial crisis would cause a revolution in France
Well it did. In Marx's time as well. Look up the Paris Commune.

And they said the crises *could* cause revolution and that it was an opportunity, they didn't say it *would*. Every crises of capitalism has potential for revolution.

>Marx thought Capitalism had the long run tendency to keep real wages at a subsistence level
*Tendency*, not that they always do. Which has been proven.

>Marx thought workers' plight would lead to Communism
Which it has multiple times.

>Marx thought Capitalism had the long-run tendency to decrease the rate of profit

>Well it did. In Marx's time as well. Look up the Paris Commune
It wasn't caused by an industrial crisis or from workers' plight.
>*Tendency*, not that they always do. Which has been proven
It has not been proven. Real wages are only going up.
>Which it has multiple times.
There is no renewed interest in Communism.

Is that using Kliman's data? Because it is super inaccurate for a number of reasons.

>It wasn't caused by an industrial crisis or from workers' plight.
Yes it was.

>It has not been proven. Real wages are only going up.
What, for western european labourers since the 60's maybe, and that could just be caused by minimum wage. But not in the third world. You can see the tendancy of wages to fall for yourself through outsourcing.

>There is no renewed interest in Communism.
Marx didn't say there would be a "renewed interest in communism", interest in communism has been consistent. Maybe not in the first world because of social democracy and the western government cracking down on it, but in the third world interest remains the same as ever.

>Is that using Kliman's data?
Well what data do you want? Even capitalists agree with it broadly. They just come up reasons why it doesn't matter.

Why is Marx one of the most, perhaps THE most talked about author on 4chan? /lit /biz /pol /his, they all talk about Marx frequently.

Marx didn't (in his mature writings) predict wages wouldn't go up - only that they would stabilize in relation to overall economic growth.
>>Marx thought Capitalism had the long-run tendency to decrease the rate of profit
>In reality, the rate of profit has not decreased.
what data are you using here?

Poor Marx. He thought things would turn around within his lifetime. I remember Zizek saying that Marx was wrong in this aspect and we are suffering through a long and slow decline without any easy solutions to this condition.

No he didn't.
