Beyond the veil of reality lies a solitary forbidden truth that holds the key to human enlightenment; it is said that “any human who reads aloud the sacred texts and who comprehends them entirely wields the eye of purity” (the eagle vision), and “experiences the world alike no other”. Those who have eagle vision see the world for what it truly is, acknowledge and understand that reality is subjective, and recognize who are their enemies, who are their friends and what is of importance for the greater glory of human kind.

Centuries ago an evil corporation known as Omega, a collection of bankers and politicians, took the ancient transcripts and transformed them to imprison humanity into a wicked and malicious society, where they must work every minute of their lives to benefit the autocrats who declared the covenant above the people. In this abstracted social order there is no room for peace, for the society relies on hatred and misfortune to shape and underline itself. Before the Omega Corporation had completed its conquest and successfully enslaved mankind there was a faction of prophets and knights known to the society as The Brotherhood.

The Brotherhood were an esoteric group of men, sworn protectors of the Book of Life, and oath bound proxy soldiers with intent to tear down and abolish any hierarchy that situated itself above the people. They would educate only the truth and provide the necessary insight to youth before allowing them to travel out into the world unprepared. When news of Omegas conquest was released into the order they were forced to craft weapons and train assassins to have any chance of suppressing the criminal actions of the tyrants, for the lives of their children were more important than the lives of themselves.

Many years passed before The Brotherhood and Omega met for the first time, and the immediate reaction from both parties was unusual – they seemed to be of equal power and authority at first, although the towns were split directly down the middle; on the left side was Omega Corporation Territory, and on the right side was The Priory of Sion. The Brotherhood had unitized with a group of talented artists, scientists, engineers and priests; pledging to arm and protect them in return for accommodation and living utensils. If Omega was to treat any member of the public (the citizens that passed freely through both districts) or The Priory unfairly without proper justice, then The Brotherhood would strike down the ones responsible.

This arrangement continued throughout the ages until the scales of power became too imbalanced, whilst The Priory of Sion successfully created a noble impressive society that was generally peaceful, with great architecture and trade routes – they did not advance technologically, monetarily or military wise alike Omega Corporation; and as time progressed Omega noticed this distinct advantage. All of a sudden there were spurs of corruption and conspiracy, respected people would be found dead or would have gone missing without a trace, executions were set up on a regular basis with suspected criminals who seemed innocent – Omega was attempting to overthrow the Priory with propaganda and false justice.

The Brotherhood, now limited to shadowy assassins, performed attacks on the hierarchy, eliminating officers and high ranking officials in hope of saving the people from an eternal enslavement under Omega control; and they were unsuccessful due to the vast amount of enemy soldiers. In the end all was lost and the Priory of Sion was abolished, and with it The Brotherhood faded into lost memories, the Book of Life now in the hands of the tyrants. There were a few secretive members of The Brotherhood who managed to blend into the now Capitalist society, these men who once thrived through courage and wisdom, are now forced to live like trained dogs; their only aim is to make sure that the truth travels far into the future.

In the present day the whole world is controlled by Omega Corporation, and none from The Brotherhood or The Priory are existent; civilization consists of misguided and deluded individuals, some call themselves teachers, some claim to be scientists and some hold weapons and say they’re soldiers, but none have the eagle vision required to perceive the world for what it is, making them all talented liars. The Book of Life has been fabricated, used only to suppress and disguise the truth; men and women claiming to be priests poison the minds of the youth with false belief, and activists are campaigning to remove the Book of Life, in its fabricated form, so that in actuality the truth is never stumbled upon by those who can see past the falsehood.

There was once another book, it told a different tale, a tale of prophecy and alteration. It said that one day when the whole world was engulfed with evil and malevolence, a master of intrigue would rise and cause innovation worldwide; that he would build an army of undead warriors that would force rapid upheaval in every town and city, in each quadrant of the Earth. This is the account of Lucis, the bearer of light.

Yes! Influenced by Assassins Creed, well, my weird interpretation of it.

I'm actually enjoying this -- if only I knew of more cool archaic groups and societies. I think the whole story will end up being a mash-up of historical events and organizations; one huge deep and edgy conspiracy adventure.
