Truly fucked up people know that the romanticism of being fucked up is greatly exaggerated. When I was a teenager I really wanted to be the "tortured intellectual" stereotype, until I got it. Now I know that if you asked any of those troubled geniuses from history they would tell you flat out that it's much better to be an ordinary, well-adjusted good person than to have genuine talent but be completely miserable.

Took me a long time to realise that it was just vanity.
