People retain less information from audiobooks than from reading. It also males it harder for you to do various things related to studying such as rereading sentences/paragraphs on the fly, highlighting quotes etc. Essentially audiobooks out you as being a plotfag and a genrefag, because they aren't condusive to studying high literature and philosophy in the way regular books are. Although, being dyslexic, you get a pass in this regard, I would still recommend you use a physical copy to follow along with the audiobook to help in your study.

Maybe you shouldn’t be a controlling, pretentious faggot. Must be dating an insecure fatty.

If a book has sparknotes, I’ll use audiobook for maybe 30% of it. I just review each chapter to ensure I didn’t miss anything important.

The voice that reads me the audiobook is much better than my inner voice, so unless I have to think much about what I'm reading (wouldn't audiobook a philosophy book) I prefer audiobooks. Also I can do other things while listening, like washing the dishes

true, but they are acceptable for most fiction. (I prefer listening to the audiobook version of at the mountains of madness)
