The Douay-Rheims is a translation of the Latin Vulgate while the KJV translates the original languages. The Douay-Rheims editions you can buy now are all the 1752 revised Challoner edition which is heavily influenced by the KJV and original languages, and most you can get today are the 1899 American edition which makes further revisions. In any case, the original Douay-Rheims was influenced by previous English Bibles such as the 1568 Bishop's Bible, which was the base for the KJV and is very similar to it.

Is that Steven Anderson? I remember I used to watch him in my teenage years (13-14). You should really grow up anon. That man is a charlatan even by Christian standards. The KJV is also not an infallible book. It is based on the manuscripts we now call the Majority Texts which were the authoritative manuscripts of the time but have now been superseded by new discoveries. When Anderson tells you that the new translations "omit" and "change" Bible verses what he really means is that they use the best available manuscripts instead of the Majority Texts.

This man is also an anti-intellectual and should never be promoted on /lit/. He has a sermon where he says philosophy is bad because the ancient Greeks were "sodomites." He (well the person who delivered that sermon was not him but someone else at his church while Anderson was off promoting hate and getting arrested in Africa) argued to his congregation against sending their kids to study philosophy because they'll be learning texts from "sodomites".

The translators of the KJV don't even agree with you which is why there's so many artifacts from previous English translations, like the use of the world cockatrice in Jeremiah 8:17.

The theosophical implications of this minor change is astronomical. The word for lord in Hebrew is Ba’al. This change masks the identity of God. His name is Yahowah, and his son is Yahosha. If these names were accurately transliterated (not translated), you wouldn’t hear “the God of the OT is completely unrelated to Jesus,” because the literal meaning of Yahosha is “Yahowah saves.” A case of mistaken identity has spread virally all because of hidden names. Hidden with titles or with mistranslations. The Bible is terribly translated, and all the names are wrong. You should transliterate names, not translate them. Matthew is Matanyahu, meaning “God’s Gift” etc.

If you wouldn’t change the names of the characters from Lord of the Rings, you absolutely shouldn’t change the names in the Bible.
