I have Watchmen pretty much memorized. I was looking for non-graphic novels, specifically. I know shit tons of comics that fit this description.

Jonathan Letham - Fortress of Solitude

Might not seem so when reading a review, but those kids eventually have a superpower - the ability to fly. The book is about a lot of things, though

I really liked Fortress of Solitue, very gripping ode to Brooklyn.

well, it drags on a bit. But, not being an american, I found it quite interesting. The exploration of urban (black) pop-culture through the 70s and 80s from the perspective of a flimsy white boy who grows up in a mostly black brooklyn neighborhood and subsequently develops some kind of stockholms syndrome. The escapism comics can offer (thats the Fortress of Solitude part).
I liked that the book was absolutely not hypocritical in any way.

Not picture books! I've read that one too, I'm a foreign exchange student from /co/ looking for more /lit/ish material.

I've never read Jumper, but the movie was an unholy peice of cunt. Is the book good?

>Superpowers
There is a wealth of literature based around the cold war. I recommend The Spy Who Came In From The Cold and (if you can find it) Atomsk.

Fade by Robert Cormier is YA but it has murder and incest so it's literature too I GUESS.

YA is fine, as long as it's good.
