Seriously guys, what comes next after the Ego pill?

How do I avoid trampling on those around me? Why would I even want to avoid that? How can I give myself freely to someone if it doesn't benefit me? Or does it benefit me in a way I'm unaware of to devote to something that doesnt directly care about me?

You're still biologically human and thus driven by your instincts to a large degree. Unless you're clinically a psychopath, you should be hardwired to derive some degree of contentment from being altruistic and empathic. If your altruism and empathy are strong enough, you should not want to trample those around you, at least most of the time.

I think the big thing that most people ignore is how a certain text is written. You should be very attuned to “mood“ and approach when it comes to the writing because the content of what is written and the way it is written have more in common than merely explication. Stirners introduction and a few other passages are absolutely beast, I feel like they are absolutely necessary readings and are very helpful to everyone in their life. There are moments when being selfish a I feel like they are absolutely necessary readings and are very helpful to everyone in their life. There are moments when being selfish actually helps the people around you, like when other people are not attuned to what’s good for you but you are and you know that what you have to do will help them whether they know it or not. That is an aspect of selfishness. But to put selfishness at the middle of your sense of ethics is borderline autistic. To put selfishness at the middle of your metaphysical approach to reality, which would result in reading history in regards to the development of egoism and being selfish, that’s just laughable. When sterner goes through the ancients and the moderns and just bashes everybody, it’s absolutely obvious to see he is not a good teacher let alone a good thinker most definitely not right. Same with Freddy. History is so crucial and the collecting of your own personal data an archive should be done with the upmost impunity to preference or bias. What I’m trying to say is that as a student you should be collecting and listening to as much data as possible before making a judgment and creating filters. History is so crucial and the collecting of your own personal data in archive should be done with the upmost impunity to preference or bias. What I’m trying to say is that as a student you should be collecting and listening to as much data as possible before making a judgment and creating filters. You won’t know why something is wrong if you do not expose yourself to it. I am mediately knew I didn’t like Freddy but I read it anyways just to realize more exactly why I didn’t like it. Trump is obviously a joke but that didn’t stop me from reading the Art of the Deal. I think Fox News is genuinely Faux News, but that doesn’t stop me from watching it. You should be absolutely indiscriminate if you want to become a truly intelligent person. I remember when I studied cinema something Kubrick said, that he learned just as much from watching bad movies as from watching the best movies.

>Stirner saw educational theory in his day as a battlefield between the two parties—humanists, grasping the past; and realists, seizing the present. He criticised both as seeking power over the "transitory" as viewing education as a "struggle towards mastery in the handling of material". Stirner supports the realist criticism that the humanists seek knowledge for its own sake, but asks whether the realists do any better. Because the realists merely supply the individual with the tools to achieve his will, without reforming that will, they fail to achieve what Stirner calls "freedom of will". They fail to reach self-understanding (a concept Stirner took from Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel and twisted in his fashion in The Ego and its Own) and "fall in the abyss of their own emptiness".

>If the failures of the humanists and realists are truly to be overcome, "the final goal of education can no longer be knowledge". Asserting that "only the spirit which understands itself is eternal", Stirner calls for a shift in the principle of education from making us "masters of things" to making us "free natures". Until one knows oneself, one has not mastered one's own will, and one is merely subservient; once one masters it one is free.

>Stirner names his educational principle "personalist", explaining that self-understanding consists in hourly self-creation. Education is to create "free men, sovereign characters", by which he means "eternal characters [...] who are therefore eternal because they form themselves each moment".

Dostoyevsky and kierkegaard works for some. there is an interesteing way to alchemize stirner with religion. there is a Stirnerian reading of the golden rule. at the end of the day it comes back to what is real, because if you think hunger is a spook you might starve. unfortunately metaphysical realities aren't as immediately discernable.

>> No.13542374

>>13533551
You can't. Much like what some think of Hegel's system, ironically.

The dead simple notions of power-relations and duped egoism he proclaims are universal, that is, they are actually immanent to any system you may try to bring up as a counterfactual. He points to the underlying process which exists in any case. The people, the king, God, etc, these are all fixtures of arbitrary command, made so by power alone, in its gross and subtle forms. A right without might is no right at all, it has no power to affect etc. There is no real prescription here. Stirner recognizes this and makes the attempt at shifting the locus of ontological privilege onto himself. Now, of course, there are details and odd implications to various other areas of interest and whatever, but the general scheme can't be avoided.

This is the only true answer, while it may seem fun or enticing to trample everything and everyone in your path it will eventually catch up to you. No matter how strong, rich, clever or smart you are you can never overpower the entire mass of the world, at least not at once. Being an egoist ironically consists of carefully considering you actions and the effects they may have on yourself and others.
