If he were working on his manifesto today, what would he be writing about smartphones and social media?

>> No.13502829

he'd watch pornhub

>> No.13502850

Isn't he still writing? Of course he'd only know about the real world today from newspapers and other inmates.

He said he watches porn from time to time in a letter. Can you blame him?

Probably nothing substantial. Smartphones and social media aren't new technology, they just package a lot of pre-existing technologies together. Humans have been cyborgs since the first fictions were told around campfires.

Probably about the continuing dehumanization of humanity. He already talked about technological innovations that are initially optional and eventually mandatory, such as the automobile. It's the same now with phones and the internet. Every new piece of tech pushes us further and further into technological slavery, and by extent slavery to the industrial system. Kids these days are raised on computers and phones. It's rare for a kid to have real life practical knowledge nowadays, the kind of knowledge that a "dad" should have, because they are brought up glued to the screens. I know because I'm one of them.

Not to this level. Every asshole now has a smartphone in his pocket, which he checks pretty much all day. This is the beginning of the end.
