This is the first novel by Céline I have read. I can't find a chart for him on the wiki, where do I go next?

Read Death on Credit, its the follow up to Journey.

What do you think of it

pretty pleased with the Manheim translation and Céline's style myself

I have ordered a copy. Thanks.

I really enjoyed it, it was much funnier than I expected it to be. By all accounts, Manheim's translation is pretty true to the original.

I am glad I finally got round to reading this after seeing it shilled on here for so long. Have you read any of his other works?

Read it this weekend and was trying not to lose my shit on the train. Good stuff, good stuff

I too was reading it on the train and I have never felt such disdain for my fellow travellers

His masterpiece is for me Mort à Crédit
His other great books (those are the original names) are Nord, Normance and D'un Chateau à l'Autre. The rest is pretty underwhelming.
Oh and if you're fine with anti-Semitism, Bagatelles Pour un Massacre is also a great read. I don't know if there's a translation for this one, though.

I bought a copy of bagatelles on amazon. IIRC it's an anonymous/"unofficial" translation. I've also been making my way through School for Corpses lately which is also a good read, though I've only found a full english version on a blog.

if you weren't on some sort of list before, you're definitely on it now

How about just looking at the synopsis' of his other works and picking one you think looks most interesting?

Not everything in life needs to be in an order that you should follow.

I've kind of accepted that. Hasn't stopped me from stockpiling a small arsenal of guns or anything else, so who gives a shit. About the only thing the government can do is expose me as a racist who likes violent porn and the occasional trap, which I also don't give a shit about.

Death on Credit was published after but it takes place before Journey so it would make sense to read that first, not that it really matters, the chart would only have Death on Credit -> Journey -> Castle
