When you fucking faggots (and by you, I mean literally everyone on earth) stop using the word Art incorrectly, this won't be a problem.

The left is art. The right is creative. It's bad, but it's a creative venture. Art should be decoupled from the concept of making things up; art specifically replies to beautiful and attractive things. Things can be creative and expressive without being art. It's the best of both worlds so modern art fags can have their cans of feces too, without it being obnoxious.

The pic on the left is such an uninspired piece of art*, at least choose something more dynamic.

*The painting itself is probably impressive IRL, but these little thumbnail reproductions are about as inspired as postcards. The creator of the image obviously chose it more for what they think it "represents" (classical subject matter, important topic, big masculine statue to wank over) than because of the visual power of the image in so reduced a form. The strange fact about /pol/ is they idolise works of art from comparatively late period in the history of European art -- mostly decadent kitsch from very very late 19th century. Stagnated formalist nonsense for housewives. Dried up and desiccated. The artistic output of a wilting culture. If anything modernism represents a return to form, to medieval vitality, to things beyond appearances.

Words don't have fixed meanings. You can cling to your definition of art all you want but the reality is that art is anything contextualized as such.

His definition of art is revisionist. He invented it. He's not clinging to anything, he's making fanciful innovations.
