now that the dust has settled is this worth reading?

what happened?

>> No.13443941

>>13443934
No, because it's too long and not very good. However, it's still essential if you want to understand the mindset of most 4channers. I've never read it myself, just guessing from the cover.

>> No.13443946

Sure its a fun read

>> No.13443947

It's a supposedly fun thing I'll never read again.

I liked it.

i read it and am ambivalent towards it.

Everything happens between the point at the end of the novel and the first chapter. In this period,

>John Wayne was a spy plant that gets executed for betraying them and sexing Avril
>Gately recovers after the end of the novel, goes to dig up the dad's grave with Hal who figured out the master copy was there.
>Except it turns out Orin figured it out before them and beat them to taking it, which is why he's being interrogated.
>Hal's dad's ghost poisons him with dmt, turning him into a Real Boy but completely swiss cheeseing his brain.

Yes.

I remember having a lot of fun reading it, some of the sequences are a bit bloated and at worst come off as try-hard, but at the same time some of the best moments in the book are those little tucked away vignettes that you only get little slivers of, the plot is suprirsingly hilarious, and the canadians losing their shit over that guy killing the dogs always gets me. Plus the actual fight scene that ensues is hilarious

the french puns aren't half as clever as they want to be though

I like how the cover looks like a 90s infomercial book

>> No.13444703

It's not worth it for being so long. Im surprised people are still talking about it but I guess it's only /lit/ doing that.

how was John Wayne a spy? I get that he had connections to the FLQ but based on his family history there's no reason for him to be a spy when there were already other FLQ spies at the academy.
