>searching for good audiobooks to relax
>find His Dark Materials trilogy
>whatthehellwhynot.jpeg
>turns out it's absolutely comfy
>listen to all three books, waiting for the big final fight, the war for reality
>but wait! It's suddenly a love story
>become nostalgic and now want a happy ending
>writer suddenly becomes a total asshole: the end is lacklusting, nothing special happens, the final fiight is anticlimatic af, and the love story turns into a tragedy

I hate Philip Pullman now. Really, really hate him. I didn't listen to these books to get a shitty ending like this. I feel betrayed.

Yeah I know it is for young adults or whatever, but I liked the gnostic ideas behind the story.
It's all messed up.

Don’t worry, anger is only the first part. I know the ending, eventually you’ll learn to look back on it in a bittersweet way, but it’s the kind of bittersweetness that just drains all your motivation when you think about it. Not Aristotle’s apocalyptic tragic ending but more like the Japanese melodramatic one, have fun with the rest of your life!
