Is this book really worth all the hype it deserves? Or is it just Edgelord: The Novel?

It's a fun read.

Not sure where you heard this, but this couldn't be any more not the case; there's nothing really edgy about it. Story is interesting enough to keep you reading (the first 2/3 of it anyway IMO), the writing style is obviously unconventional and different. It's a very okay book all things considered. There's just a group of shitposters here who (You) farm by saying "muh gimmicks" and such.

Hated it, you want my busted old copy? I wiped my ass with it

It's a successful experiment, if nothing else.

I thought it was dumb. Not nearly as fun as I hoped. Nothing especially insightful or fulfilling. You might enjoy it just for the fun of reading a book printed in a strange way.

depends on how much Nabokov you've read I suppose
