I'm reading Catch-22 and it's alright yeah. I'm enjoying the cadence of the prose.

Results of the Direct Production Process

It's repetitive in places, but otherwise it's great.

Got a Kafka collection, just finished the Trial and reading the Castle now. Seems a lot more on-the-nose and ham-fisted with its themes than the Trial so far, but I'm still enjoying it. Got a very dreamlike quality that I love.

Anabasis by Xenophon

I just want to be a mercenary hoplite killing and pillaging my way across Asia and back :(

I'm reading Infinite Jest right now (150 pages in) and its not as difficult as people say it is. I was expecting an overdose of information that was practically undecipherable until I reached the end but DFW has set up a lot of crucial plot elements like infidelity and cheating (be it through addiction or whatever). Who knows though, maybe it becomes more difficult as it goes on. Haven't really googled it or anything so I might be missing something.

The Crying of Lot 49

Started it yesterday and I'm already halfway through. It feels hyper-condensed compared to V. I like it so far.

Is this an actual suicide manual, or something else? Are you reading it in English or Japanese?

It's the Japanese original from 1993.
I'm not fluent in Japanese yet tho, so I need to use a dictionary from time to time, but I know most of the book by heart now.
It's funny, I started learning Japanese just to read this book, and while learning I found a reason to live. I just keep the book around to remember that usually it's not too late to turn things around.
