Yes. The entire plot of his LotR was in a way a story of the fight against industrialization and the new world order/ one world government. Tolkein himself detested industrialization and was well aware of the future implications of the mere invention of the combustion engine.

It's said that the books shouldn't be seen as allegorical, but I know for a fact they are.

It is indeed a very colorful retelling of the Arthurian legend, but the backstory to Sauron (Saturn, Satan, Set) will reveal the true meaning of the story. And the corruption of Saruman (Solomon) completely fits the narrative.
