Try futurism/transhumanism books. They might help you feel slightly more optimistic about the future of humanity without relying on divine salvation. The Age of spiritual machines by ray kurzweil is a good place to start. If you need a full on atheist alternative to the afterlife, you could try the Physics of immortality by frank tipler. But if you want to try tipler's book, maybe read the fabric of reality by david deutsch first. And if you're lonely, you could read love + sex with robots by david levy. You know, could give you hope of robotic companionship in your lifetime.
