I was on this same quest a few months ago, didn’t yield too much
There is a huuuge gap between modern and ancient bodybuilding. Basically we know that the Greeks practiced some forms of organized “workout” aside from pure active leisure (games sports etc) that we could call weightlifting, but with limited technical capacity the closest thing resembling weightlifting proper would be squatting with heavy rocks. That said certain types of “weights” have been discovered to imply they were aware of resistance training aiding muscle growth. Then the huge gap and we get strongmen and bodybuilders in Western Europe circa 1800s, employing squats bench press etc. They were clearly keeping some traditions alive but here isn’t much recorded or collected in terms of analysis
