This would actually work if the author didn’t get tempted to lose themselves in the romantic side of it. The pleasure that female adult and male child would be intense and immense, but, the truth is that the female adult is essentially sexualizing and raping an adolescent, regardless of his prowess. This is what makes Nabokov so brilliant. No matter how persuasive the narrator is, the basic consequences of life would describe the truth- this is an adult taking advantage of a child. In this kind of book the consequences of their actions would have to be told in such a way that the repercussions come naturally and the catastrophic element would have to be detailed without being too obvious. For example, the female adult after fornication would have to drive the boy home because he doesn’t have his license. And as they wait at a red light he looks out from the passenger window at a fast food shop and she asks if he’s hungry. He says no thank you. lol Etc
