Oh man, are you one of those *alpha males* who thinks life is about headgames and getting other people to "do your bidding?" or are you a *free spirit man* and never do anything anyone else is doing? Are all your games made up like calvinball, and your whole life is a series of trapezing through gift stores and acting like a turd in public?

3x3s are on every board out there and all of those books are influential books that I hear about and appreciate. These are the meme books and I fucking live for the meme bro.

I am just saying, save for Gravity's Rainbow and Infinite Jest which I am sure I would have been reading had I known about /lit/ at the time, I read those books when I was a sophomore in high school and considered myself some erudite absurdist prankster ala Camus.

My assessment of you: Naive, insecure, impressionable, intellectually shallow. No personal reading taste. Entirely driven by shallow reasons, instead of genuine interest and the will to learn. Not even remotely capable of thinking autonomously.

what on earth makes you think 3x3 is a D&D chart?

>> No.13320569

>>13319313
D-do you think that's all I've read? I picked those books because they have some of the best discussion around them. What would be "refined?" I bet you just think you're "enlightened" because you've got different opinions.

>>13319310
Because they murdered people? Because the ideology is based around murdering people?

>>13319292
Why is it good for literally every other board and not this one? Do you think books are some kind of special art? Get over yourself dude.

>>13318667
Well, books are to discuss. The entire point of reading is conversation and argument. Sure I've been driven to emotion by a compelling story and enjoy building the world in my head but politics, philosophy and finance books are all about talking and planning.

Mein Kampf Ch 2-
> Therefore, I am convinced that I am acting as the agent of our Creator. By fighting off the Jews, I am doing the Lord's work.
> Was there any excrement, any shamelessness in any form, above all in cultural life, in which at least one Jew would not have been involved? As soon as one even carefully cut into such an abscess, one found, like maggots in a decaying body, often blinded by the sudden light, a kike.
Ch 3 -
> In regard to the Jewish problem, do not the two Christian denominations take up a standpoint to-day which does not respond to the national exigencies or even the interests of religion? Consider the attitude of a Jewish Rabbi towards any question, even one of quite insignificant importance, concerning the Jews as a race, and compare his attitude with that of the majority of our clergy, whether Catholic or Protestant. We observe the same phenomenon wherever it is a matter of standing up for some abstract idea. ‘Authority of the State’, ‘Democracy’, ‘Pacifism’, ‘International Solidarity’, etc., all such notions become rigid, dogmatic concepts with us; and the more vital the general necessities of the nation, the more will they be judged exclusively in the light of those concepts.
Ch 4 -
Everyone who believes in the higher evolution of living organisms must admit that every manifestation of the vital urge and struggle to live must have had a definite beginning in time and that one subject alone must have manifested it for the first time. It was then repeated again and again; and the practice of it spread over a widening area, until finally it passed into the subconscience of every member of the species, where it manifested itself as 'instinct.'
Ch 5 -
> Only in the steady and constant application of force lies the very first prerequisite for success. This persistence, however, can always and only arise from a definite spiritual conviction. Any violence which does not spring from a firm, spiritual base, will be wavering and uncertain.

This goes on for the whole book, next volume Ch 1-
> On this planet of ours human culture and civilization are indissolubly bound up with the presence of the Aryan. If he should be exterminated or subjugated, then the dark shroud of a new barbarian era would enfold the earth.

unironically based. catch 22 is one of my fav books.

I don't care for 1984, I know we always hear about it but I just don't think it's as accurate as everyone says.

Brave new world is better but it's on there.

You should really read Infinite Jest if you haven't already.

Oh man I dig it, there's some good fantasy on this one. I like Dune, High Castle, Neuromancer, new sun and crying of lot 49. I read lot 49 in highschool at the suggestion of my English teacher but found it impossible to comprehend so maybe I'll return to it in the near future for a re-read now that I've got better attention span. Gravity's Rainbow was pretty good.
