Well, looking on a chan is probably not going to give you an answer. Sit in silence and think. Ruminate about your own experiences as a person, and what those experiences indicate. If you exist toxically, figure out how to purge that toxicity so you can enter a place where you can grapple with meaning.

There is no ultimate meaning, considering that you can always question the underlying meaning of any bedrock goal or principle you set for yourself. Which isn't inherently good or bad, uplifting or depressing. It just is.

Living a fulfilling life is a logically distinct question, however. Most people are wired to feel satisfaction and purpose when they pursue goals, contribute to their community and generally serve some purpose outside of themselves. The fact that those things don't rest on any deeper metaphysical foundation doesn't change the fact that they are intrinsically satisfying to pursue. You don't need a deep transcendental reason to drink a glass of water or give money to a homeless person.

And how is it not an infinite regress? Even if you think there IS some foundational meaning, the psychological fact that you can always question that meaning shows the absurdity of the human condition. You will always have moments where the suspicion arises that those goals are in some sense arbitrary, or could have easily been different. My argument is that you might as well accept the inevitability of skepticism and see that life can still be good regardless.

The peaks of Ontology, epistemology, and teleology converging into one around the only truly knowable idea? The perfection of the soul brings us to a completely different way of experiencing consciousness than any we've known. The only path to this perfection that is at all reasonable is to do good well. Well let's see: science, arguably the most advanced product of our intellect, strongly suggests each of us is a complex biological aggregate of matter whose phenotype is expression of a code made so by genetic information, that over time became more and more vary and complex since the first simple organism appeared on this planet, one in millions in the thing we call universe. We can do all the cool human things, but we are, exactly like an animal, mortal. Now, our ability of cognition and emotion is so complex that our subjective self can create different ideas about our origin, which have somewhat lesser evidence and are not supported by current science, but ok. Once this state of things is understood and accepted, the questions about meaning of life become highly speculative. In the biological sense, the meaning is living itself (I guess each of us knows what I mean by this: growing up, finding a way to sustain yourself through your abilities = working, socialising in a community, competing for resources and finding one or more partners, and reproduce and keep doing this according to the biological drives and forces that allow you to, till, like said before, you die). As our mental ability is quite advanced and can imagine things beyond our biological existence, it can transcend this cycle and create another sort of meaning. Values and ideas and emotions can make us feel like meaning is found in doing a particular activity, being exception in a craft, creating something or achieving a goal. Regardless, our mortal nature, I believe, should always be kept in the back of our mind. Not to make us fearful, but rather to make us choosy and avid with our choice of activities and time expenditure.

There shall always be a point to life - It is just man gets caught on the individual lemotional reaction that originates from the desire to belong not realising he now belongs no less than he did before within the frame of reference for meaning.

Still - the desire for innate meaning is none the less an important one for it is the correspondance to the Will (being the most primal innate drive of life) actualised. This prime is nothing other than the meaning to life as so many think of "life" as something apart from life itself.

It may be easy to resort to Socratic rationality as one question predisposing another: We have eyes to see, "what for?" survival, "what for?" to experience "what for?". One must realise the self actualisation of consciousness to that of subject as object... The self revealing truth scribed by our fine philosopher Hegel.
