I struggle with same sex attraction and I'm looking for any literature and discussion of said literature that might help me out in resisting temptation of both my heart and my body (e.g. ex-gay books or books that provide comfort and advice to those battling this sin). I've already read a few books on the topic.

Jennifer Morse has some great lectures and books on this. Not homosexuality or resisting it in particular, but in critiquing the broader assumptions of the sexual revolution and describing just how destructive it has been.

OP here, in Be Not Deceived there are several men whose specific stories are detailed (and their wives are interviewed), what winds up happening is the men genuinely do emotionally, but not sexually, love their wives, and they frequently wind up having anonymous sex trysts with other men that they try to hide from them. The wives, in some cases, blame themselves, while in others they are distraught (aside from the obvious) because they can't fulfill their husband's sexual needs. It's a really ugly situation to be in.

Nice thread OP. I'm in the same boat as you -- struggling with SSA and a porn addiction, struggling to still live a Christian life. (I also end up relapsing every 2-3 weeks.) Since our situations sound similar I don't imagine I can offer much help, but take my moral support and my prayers.

Lately I've gotten a lot out of reading the Catechism of the Catholic Church. I'm not sure why, maybe because it's helpful to remember the purpose and meaning of Christianity, to subordinate my desires to God's will. SSA isn't the only problem I turn to God for and I think it's helpful for me when I don't define my whole relationship with God around this one sin.

I'm sure you're also reading the Bible, but I'm also taking a Bible course which I find helpful. Both because it helps me understand the Bible on a deeper level, and because it puts me in a room with other Christians who can model for me what Christian relationships are supposed to look like.

I haven't read it yet, but I'll second Libido Dominandi, only because many of my friends highly recommend E. Michael Jones. This book is actually on my list (while I'm working through some other books).

I find it really helpful when I pray a rosary. I'm pretty bad about making a habit out of this, but it pays off when I do. Maybe you have some principled reason against Catholicism if you're non-denominational, but I still recommend it.

One other thing -- I sleep with a little wooden cross under my pillow. Anons can laugh, but a few times now I've woken up in the middle of a SSA dream, subconsciously reached for my cross, and peacefully gone back to sleep. One thing I've learned is that symbols and talismans really matter, so I'd recommend something like that.

OP you are basically condemning yourself to a life without romantic love. Believe me when I say romantic love, combined with the act of sexual union, is the purest, most authentic and satisfying thing you will ever experience. Pursuing a relationship with a woman you are not sexually attracted to would be disingenous, it would hurt her and encase her in a lie, while denying her the experience of full-love. Forcing yourself into a life of celibacy would hurt yourself, which is also tragic

Why would a God instill in people same-sex attraction and then punish them for it? Why would a God be angered by the existence of same-sex attraction? An omnipotent being would surely be above the kind of prejudices you encounter on a school playground. If the kind of God described here governs the universe - the one that judges people for meditation, for building romantic connections with the same sex - this paranoid hateful, alcoholic rage infused God - if that God governs the universe then I would gladly be cast into a lake of fire. Why would I want to share a Kingdom with such a brutish God?

Also, the whole lake of fire idea is pretty recent and doesn't really exist in the original texts, but whatever.
