is the Cosmere worth reading?

Eh, I read Mistborn at the end of last year and it was pretty bad. I mean the world building is cool. The magic system is cool (all their like... metal burning or whatever). I kinda liked the idea that the bad guy won 1,000 years ago and had ruled the world with an iron fist since then. But... I dunno, the writing itself was not good. The dialog and characters were kinda cringey. It's obviously YA Fiction geared towards girls. So like... if you do anything creative yourself, you might be able to grab some nuggets from it to use as inspiration, but if you're just going through it for raw entertainment / ingestion, I think you can skip them.

They're kinda like Name of the Wind, but Rothfuss is just a better writer.

The Stormlight Archive are his only books i can stomach. Everything he does is the same, but if you like
>Over explained magic systems
>Simplistic dialogue
>Idiotic characters
>More magic explanation
>Every book is connected
>Mormonism
Then go ahead

Not him, but just talking about 1 book saying it had good things and bad things doesn't sum up whether the Cosmere is worth reading well.

... After 750 pages of teen girl drama and having the same thing explained to you 13 times, yes, there are some kino fight scenes. Especially in Stormlight

Just finished the first Mistborn book the other day. It was a fun read. Some of the dialogue was lame, but I had a good time. If you like anime or RPGs then you'll probably enjoy it.

First book sure but I'm trying to get through the second book and it feels like a High school anime love triangle. Can someone tell me that shit drama stops later on?

The writings pretty great. If you enjoy being able to read shit without the choppiness, you'll like the prologue even if you don't like the content. It reads like a swing. Sorry I am really stoned, but it's like you're on a swing and you're looking to one side and the swing doesn't stop, but you're walking the next minute without noticing the transition and that's where the lightning lizards come in. Try the prologue.
