Greek mythology books that are entertaining and accurate.
Other mythologies accepted, as well, but Greek is preferred.

Ovid's Metamorphoses is all you really need. It was written in Latin by a Roman but deals entirely with the Greek mythos. Most of the stories you are familiar with that aren't from the Iliad or the Odyssey will come from this book.

Pick your favorite translation from the list.

Aye it's very good. You might also try Travelling Heroes by Robin Lane Fox, he traces the creation of the myths and their course through the mediterranean using pottery as a guide. A little dry at times but essential reading if you are serious about Greek mythology. The accompanying TV series is more accessable and can be found here:

Mythology by Edith Hamilton

it's the only one I read besides some children's book and it's pretty accurate...my Latin teacher recommended :/

This one is indeed very accurate.

I didn't find it to be entertaining in the least, though. To be frank, it was difficult for me not to nod off while I forced myself through it.

I was disappointed that the Norse mythology section was so ridiculously truncated and generalized, though. As OP seems interested mainly in Greek mythology, it shouldn't matter too much.

I've picked up The Odyssey, Iliad, and Ovid's Metamorphoses (2004 translation) and am returning to Barnes and Nobel tomorrow.

OP here. Back from a few days ago, glad to see this is still alive.
Actually, I'm quite interested in Norse related topics. Care to share what you have?
